Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has stated that the forthcoming week of fixtures may define whether the Reds can push towards a maiden league title. The Mersey side outfit recently jumped to the top of the table following a goalless draw at Manchester United but the title race remains wide open with 11 games remaining before the season close.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher highlighted that the Reds need to be wary of the upcoming games against Watford and Everton, given they are no midweek league games thereafter to trouble their title pursuit, he said: “I think with Liverpool we keep building this game up and they should have gone and won it, but it’s the week, not Manchester United which is important. If Liverpool get out the end of this week and they’re still top of the league even if it’s a point, it’s a good week, because this is the week when City could drop points.”
