Louis van Gaal talks about his January transfer plans
If there is any manager in the world of football that should be worried about losing his job is hands down, Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal. The Dutch coach finished the year of 2015 by sustaining successive underwhelming results and dropping points against teams which simply shouldn’t have happened at all.
Manchester United is consistently being valued as one of the most expensive clubs and squads in football. The Premier League club spends a substantial amount of cash on transfer windows and this is why the pressure is so huge on the managers as they have to collect consistent victories and win big pieces of silverware, especially taking into consideration all the money that is dished out in signing world class players.
Louis van Gaa and his players sustained a string of disappointing results in December of 2015 which included losing against Norwich City, Bournemouth and Stoke City while only being able to collect draws against Chelsea and West Ham United.
This possibly was the most disastrous way that Louis van Gaal could have ended 2015 as his team only managed to secure 2 points from the possible 15 during that specific period of time. The head chiefs of Manchester United have given the Dutch coach some time for him to recover from these depressing results and one of the options that Louis van Gaal will take in order to improve his squad and possibly avoid sustaining more defeats is by signing new players in the winter transfer window. “I don’t see January as the ideal time to do business as the players cannot then have the preseason that I feel they need to be integrated into the squad, both on and off the pitch. However, if I and the coaches feel that something can be done to improve the current squad then that is something we will look at if the opportunity does arise.” Louis van Gaal said in a press conference.
From the looks of it, Louis van Gaal isn’t very excited about the winter transfer window opening up as he isn’t as interested in signing new players as he used to be some time before but if he does find a player or a tempting offer, he will attempt to sign them and improve his team.
