Louis Van Gaal happy with Squad
Louis Van Gaal believes that the main reason behind Manchester United performing much better this season is that there is more balance in the squad now.
The Red Devils have won 5 out of their 7 games in the Premier League 2015-16.
They topped the table last weekend when they defeated the Black Cats at home.
Speaking post that win, Van Gaal said, “This is a good bunch of players. But, wins are never guaranteed. We might lose somewhere down the line. Luck plays its part as well. But, one thing is for sure is that we have got more balance in the squad this time around and thus, we should be having more positive results.”
“Improvement is something that we should always look for. We have to keep getting better and better with each passing week.”
“As far as I am concerned, rotating the players is much easier for me. If you had observed the previous season, I didn’t opt for much rotation as the balance was not there. So, I would say I am more comfortable now. But, you can only do so much as manager. It’s the players who hold the key. If the structure that is there in place is acceptable to everyone or not, that is very important. At the moment, I am doing my job and the players are doing their job fantastically well too.”
In the Sunderland game, United scored in the closing seconds of both the halves.
When asked about that, the Dutchman, “That first goal was so vital. We went into the break with a positive frame of mind and then our approach coming into the second half was quite different.”
United now has to take on the Gunners, who are no. 4 in the table, at the Emirates Stadium this week.
