ARSENAL RELEASE DECEMBER’S PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES
Premier League side Arsenal have released a list of nominees for the December edition of their Player of The Month awards. The Gunners had a mixed end to the year as they rounded off December with back-to-back wins despite enduring a patchy start to it.
I’m their last two games of the year, Arsenal played Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at the Emirates and shocked the football World by winning the game with a scoreline of 3-1. In their next game and last game of the year, they travelled to Burnley and secured a vital 1-0 win away from home – a morale-boosting win for Mike Arteta’s men.
Here is a list of the Arsenal’s Player of The Month nominees for December.
Alexandre Lacazette
Star striker Alexandre Lacazette was a man on form in December despite his side’s mixed run. The Frenchman was still able to notch up four goals in the month and appears on the list in the process. He scored a brilliant Europa League goal against Dundalk, netted another goal versus Manchester City in the League Cup, and followed his fine form by finding the back of the net in the league against Chelsea and the winner against Brighton.
Emile Smith Rowe
Emile was brilliant for the Gunners in December. The 20-year-old was in scintillating form in the game against Chelsea and was one of the top performers in that game. He scored his first-ever goal this season for Arsenal in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna. He also registered an assist against Dundalk and flourished excellently in the win against Brighton.
Bukayo Saka
The English prodigy showed the exact signs that made the club band him the number 7 shirt especially against Chelsea. He started on the right-wing against the Blues and scored the Gunners’ third goal against their bitter London rivals. He was also among the goals as he set up Lacazette for the summer against Brighton.
Kieran Tierney
Last on the list is Tierney who continued his sensational form in December. His enthusiasm, boldness and hunger going forward from his natural left-back position were remarkable. The Scottish International made remarkable effort against Chelsea and was fouled in the 18-yard box to hand his side a glorious penalty.
